To realize the mission of changing the face of leadership in Alabama and the vision of a more prosperous and equitable state, the Leading Edge Institute must position its graduates to compete in the political and corporate arenas through offering them advanced training for alumnae and finish building the network of regional Community Council structure. We are in the beginning stages of transforming the Leading Edge Institute from a single program to a multi-layered institution with statewide impact by adding a robust Alumnae education program and adding four more Community Councils, the East Alabama pilot was partially funded by The Women’s Fund in 2009. Firmly established institutional layers of informed, equipped, and networked alumnae and Community Council members will lead to greater visibility, presence and synergy for the organization as a whole and will impact the state as a whole by providing stronger leadership that creates opportunities for prosperity and security for women, which will in turn result in more stable and healthy families overall.
